Outsourcing initiatives have moved to the executive boardrooms as companies utilize outsourcing strategies not only to save costs, but to drive revenues and profits in order to gain and sustain competitive advantage in the global marketplace. The worldwide outsourcing industry recently topped $350 billion and is expected to reach $1.2 trillion by 2007.
Outsourcing, the term, sends chills across the software development workforce, but at the same time it is a growing reality. Find out first hand from an expert what it is all about and what implications it has for our industry, both short and long-term.
This presentation will address the latest trends in the global outsourcing marketplace and how it affects you including reasons for the rapid growth of outsourcing as a strategic management discipline. Other topics covered include: outsourcing implementation models, outsourcing and the impact on the U.S. jobs, outsourcing lifecycle phases, leading offshore outsourcing countries, outsourcing risks and critical outsourcing success factors.
Mark Power has
20 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Mr. Power has held senior management and executive positions in
operations, strategic sourcing, supply management, contracts, information technology
and product development.
Mr. Power is a
seasoned global outsourcing executive.
For the past 14 years Mr. Power has designed, implemented and managed
multimillion-dollars manufacturing, information technology and product
development Outsourcing initiatives in the United States, Mexico, Europe, the
Middle East and India. Mr. Power
established and managed Rockwell International’s first Offshore Development
Center in India.
Mr. Power is the
President of ROS Incorporated an outsourcing consultancy and education company
based in Lisle, Illinois. ROS
Incorporated advises and educates organizations on outsourcing strategies,
designs, implementations and management of outsourcing best practices that
maximizes return-on-outsourcing investments.
Mr. Power has a
BA Degree from Stonehill College, an MBA Degree from Roosevelt University and
an MS Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Power also holds C.P.M.
and A.P.P. certifications from the Institute of Supply Management and has been
awarded two design patents in the call center technology area.
